The pain of public transport!

It's 8.38am (well when I wrote this!) and I'm sitting on a stinky crowded peak hour train, feeling very cranky.. I don't generally write cranky blog posts, but this morning on my ride to work I have nothing better to do and I need to get my frustrations off my chest!! As I write this I am wondering if the girl sitting next to me is reading me write this, I see a smirk escape her lips.. so maybe.. or I want what she is having!!!

The last few months I have become accustomed to driving to work! And although it's a love/hate relationship at times, it seemed to be working ok! So it was with great  sadness that I dropped off my beloved Nissan Tiida this morning to the panel beaters to get fixed! Yes I shouldn't complain really, I am  paying the ultimate price for my atrocious parking skills or lack there of!!

Ask me 4 months ago if driving to work was an option and I would have replied : "only in an emergencies!!" I was a public transport fan through and through!! Ask me now and I want my car back ASAP!!

This may be due to the added transport burden my new workplace has delivered me!
Take my old typical work day for example:
- drive to station
- get a train
-11 mins later get off
- drop Darby at kinder
- walk the 2 minute walk to work
This was all done in around about 30-40 mins door to door!
Don't be fooled by their cuteness!!!

to now,  a very different story  for the next 2 weeks
- walk to station
- get on train for 11 minute journey
-get off and walk Darby to kinder
- wait for tram
- get on packed tram
- get off tram
- get on another crammed tram
- travel 15 minutes
- Get off tram and walk a few minutes to work
This takes around about 70 minutes on a good day and almost 2 hours on a bad day (today was a bad, bad day!!)
I know there are worse things to be complaining about in this world, but I need to whinge somehow!!!
My glass half full attitude is always looking for the positives and I am happy about one thing and thats the incidental exercise all this walking will bring... That seems to be the only positive I can see so far..

Ok whinge over.. 1 day down and 9 to go!!!
Until Next time, life is too short to worry about how you get to work & to crappy coffee!!
