Letters to Darby- Day 1

Dear Darby,

Well its day 2 and I am finally in Mauritius, It feels like many days have transpired since I got to say goodbye to you.. but I think thats what flying does… it makes you think of time differently.

It was a long long flight for me yesterday.. it felt like it took forever.. I watched all of the movies, even the ones that didn't interest me but I'll save watching the Lorax again for the way home!

I definitely had a sore bottom at the end of it and was happy to get off the plane, stretch my legs, walk and see a familiar face!
Elisha greeted me with a big hug and a drink.. You would have loved that the car they are driving is the same as ours… something familiar in an unfamiliar country.

I met some more of grooms family and will have to practice my "double kiss".. when they greet each other, they kiss each other on both cheeks! I'm sure I will be used to it by the time I leave!
It was also so good to see Shaz and Mossy.. and meet baby Aiden.. he absolutely loved your gifts.. he will be your new Batman/Superman apprentice!

The time difference will take some getting used to, I ate dinner last night and it would have been 3.30am in the morning, quite crazy really! It was bizarre yesterday to have gone backwards in time!  At the moment it is 6.00am, but in Melbourne it would be lunchtime!

Today we are off to an animal zoo something like the Open range zoo in Werribee.. but here you can actually touch the animals - and you can even pat a Lion.. that sounds like fun but mummy being a scaredy cat won't do it! Ill just watch from afar! I don't want to be a few fingers short when I am a bridesmaid on Saturday!
I will remember to take lots and lots of photos for you and I will even pick you up a little present!

Missing your cuddles and your kisses so much…. I hope you are having an awesome time with your dad and I hope that I get to speak to you soon! And I hope there will be news about your cousin soon too … I cant wait for you to become a big cousin and me an aunty!
Loving you lots and lots and lots

Mum
