So this time tomorrow I'll be flying somewhere over the nullabor.. It feels surreal at the moment to even fathom it!
Have I packed? Not quite! I'll get there.. I know I will (my mum is stressed for me I'm sure!!)
I just am not really stressed, which is so not me!! Denial is a very powerful thing! I hope it gets me through my goodbyes tomorrow with Darby which I expect to very tough!
He is so so excited for me and I am excited too... but I am having an inner struggle with that worrier inside! It's so easy to get caught up in these feelings! But he will be fine, I will be fine! I will miss him like no tomorrow... but we will both be fine..
Ok so enough of that talk.....
I have been inspired by my friend Kate from 'Our Little Sins', She is doing such a gorgeous job of sending out 100 Panetone postcards on a challenge of her own.. I love challenges.. they are good for your soul.. oh and I was lucky to receive a beautiful Citron postcard last week!
It got me thinking how much I love postcards! When I was about 8 I would collect them.. I think I kept up this hobby until I was about 15! They were proudly displayed in many a photo album.. I had so many pretty, unique and dear to my heart cards! Some were just bought on holidays, some I had received or some my mum had received from one of her many international pen pals!
When I was away in Ireland 11 years ago, I collected and sent a heap of postcards.. I would sit in a quaint village with a cup of tea and scone by my side and write and write! It was so soothing and relaxing and made me realise the amazing things we had done on our trip!
I know I will send a heap of postcards to Darby whilst I am away....but I would really like to write to more than just a five year old too.. so if you would like me to send one from an exotic destination.. think Mauritius... or classic and well to die for - think Paris.. and Ill even get a stack of London Olympic Postcards too .
Drop me a line with your address and I'll see what I can do! xxxx
