I was reading Edenland's blog about Funeral Songs last night and it really struck a chord..as morbid as it is, I have been thinking about this alot lately..
With my cousins death so raw in my mind and my heart... all I was dreading (and looking forward to at the same time - very weird I know) was the music she had selected for her funeral... I know that she would have had a big part in selecting the songs that spoke about her life... and they really did represent her; Bob Dylan, Etta James, Weddings Parties Anything, Florence and the Machine... to name just a few..You could hear that these songs were pieces of her life... a tapestry of years put together, of different memories and different decades, different friends, different loves.. They were her, all her.... and it did get me thinking...
Such an amazing selection made me think it would be good for people to know my ideas for my Funeral Songs..( I just wish I didn't keep changing my mind about what songs I would like!)

This concept is something I am sure I will keep thinking about from time to time, it just seems to be front of mind at the moment. After being to someone I loves last tribute... her music made it all the more emotional, intense, special ... So to have control of selecting these songs and then putting them in a public forum is actually very therapeutic (albeit slightly morbid)..
I am linking up today with the amazing Eden Riley... over at Edenland (her blog is amazing full stop!)
Until next time, Life is too short for crappy coffee
