I have missed my Wonderful Weekends link ups since 2011.. over with the adorable and gorgeous Son at Life Love & Hiccups....
My only issue is it hasn't been a wonderful weekend to date, nor start to the year really, so I'm not sure I qualify for this event!!! But I have the urge to write, and when I do it soothes me, so here goes...
My family is going through a very difficult time at the moment... and that has played heavily on my mind and on my heart all week, I haven't thought of much else. I have felt flat and teary, and generally emotional. I have been on edge and full of anxiety waiting for a much feared phone call...This is not Java Jane at all, its draining my body of energy which not even my beloved coffee can top up! Through this though I have still rustled up some reserves for some much needed laughter.. it has helped to keep me on a level playing field!!
So this week I am sharing the moments of wonderful that I occurred during the weekend! I am happy to report there were a few:

| Ahhh Wine... its going to help me get through this week!! |
* Watching Darby do a (maybe rather inappropriate bum) dance to "Sexy and I know it"!!! This had me and 3 other girlfriends almost wetting ourselves, much needed tears of laughter, this was so so funny (and wrong!!) Although I have had a chat to him to not do the dance every time he hears the song... Oh god help me if it plays in the supermarket (or anywhere else in public for that matter!!)
* A wonderful and delicious coffee at "The Premises" - I broke my 1 coffee a day rule to have this, but it was totally and utterly worth it!!!
* Having my good friend Janine stay over on Friday night .. and spending all day saturday just hanging out, chatting and playing with Darby!!
* Pizza and yummy icecream at my place (I didn't cook either!) with my sister and 2 of our oldest and dearest childhood family friends... They are almost like family! It was nice to sit around and have a giggle and chat! And look back at old old pictures of when we were kids! Its scary we have known each other our whole lives!!

| * Sunday morning sleep in... sooo rare and so nice! |
*Another wonderful coffee on Sunday ... this time from Duchess of Spotswood .. as well as a very tasty gingerbread muffin!! mmmm
Here are the lowlights (there were a couple!!)
* Waiting hours for my brand spanking new fridge to be delivered only to be told that I would need a "man" to help me!! One of the first times I have felt discriminated for being a single mum, because there won't be any "man" on site anytime soon!! So Im still waiting on my new fridge to come! |

* Going out for dinner with Darby's dad and his family, only to have to leave when I was downing my entree (a delicious spring roll by the way!) because Darby was misbehaving sooo badly! This doesn't happen often, but when it does its bad!!! I was sure I was going to be paying for some broken wine glasses!! I went home with a very upset boy and a very hungry tummy!!
Looking back at my weekend I realise even though I wasn't feeling like socialising it was still a weekend filled with life and laughter.... And then that just makes me a whole lot more sad as life is soon to be taken from someone close.. and that is just not fair at all... And then my weekend just pales in comparison with the enormity of whats going on around me... and my heart feels heavy again....
